Plants and moving water make a small garden on a patio. The Outdoor Plus Cazo planter and water bowl is a handcrafted round bowl of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) in a wood grain finish that holds soil and plants and sends water over a copper scupper, in two diameters from 24 to 32 inches and three finishes.

GFRC, or glass fiber reinforced concrete, is concrete strengthened with fine glass fibers and shaped by hand, so each piece carries its own subtle variation in color and texture.

Key Features

GFRC wood grain. A round bowl of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) in a wood grain finish.
Two sizes. 24" across by 8" high and 32" across by 10" high.
Three finishes. Chosen with the swatches above.
Soil and water together. The bowl holds soil and plants, and a copper scupper with a 3/4 inch inlet carries the water.
Room for soil. From 1.25 cubic feet in the 24-inch bowl to 2.25 cubic feet in the 32-inch bowl.
Free standing. The bowl stands on its own; mounting with concrete anchors or adhesive is optional.

Installation Readiness

A planter and water bowl needs a water supply line to its 3/4 inch scupper inlet and a level surface with good drainage. It needs no gas or electrical connection of its own.

Care and Use

Choose a location with good drainage, away from foot traffic, on a level surface.
Before adding soil, you may add 2 to 6 inches of gravel at the bottom of the bowl to help drainage; add soil slowly, then the plants, and leave 1 to 2 inches between the soil and the rim.
Keep the scupper level and in place when you add soil: do not bump it out of position.
